My oldest daughter won this in a Toppsta giveaway but she didn't manage to read it all as she said it wasn't interesting to her.
Having read the blurb, I starting reading it and couldn't put it down! It is a wonderful book of adventure, mystery, unlikely friendships and family with a little bit of history mixed in. It pushes the boundaries of what is real to the extremes and challenges the reader to think outside of the box.
I think it is a fabulous book, and one that (as a teacher) I could use in the classroom for various genres of writing.

I think that Dandelion Lady is a thrill of a book . Every page conjured a new picture in my mind . The description is magnificent , making a world of colour and laughter spread between the pages . I really enjoyed this wonderful story and think it was a great read . I would recommend this to children of 9 and over and I hope Anita Wright writes another story in the series . I hope more people read this fantastic novel and LOVED THIS BOOK !!!

This book is about a girl called Beth who makes friends with the owner of an old house Miss Barter. Beth discovers secrets about the house and finds herself in danger. This is a really interesting book full of mystery. I couldn't stop reading as i really wanted to find out what would happen next. I am glad i got the chance to review this book, I didn't really like the cover so would never have chosen it myself.

My son was lucky enough to receive this as a giveaway, and it was lovely to receive a copy that had been signed by the author.
We tried to read this together a couple of times but did not get very far with it - it did not interest my son. So - I have read this to myself. It was hard to get into at first, but once the story got going it was quite gripping (and has not taken me long to read). There are several themes /intrigues that run through the book, and it is not until later on that they are slowly drawn together. The story focuses on a girl as she turns eleven, and is set in the 193os. Her best friend has just moved to Australia. She meets the lady of the manor, and what follows is how their friendship develops and the sloe unraveling of the mystery of the village stately home.

I don't really like this book because it is not what like to usually read and it didn't grab my attention. I did read about half of it but couldn't keep going.
It was nice that a personal message to me was written inside by the author and that she signed it.
