As her childhood friends get married and move away, Anne leaves Prince Edward Island for Redmond College in Kingsport. Although Priscilla Grant and Gilbert Blythe are fellow-students, she's still lonely. But she soon makes new friends wherever she goes, including rich, handsome Roy Gardner, whose attentions to Anne make Gilbert very jealous.
