Language program articulation, i.e., how the skills level (1st and 2nd year courses) integrate with the content level (3rd and 4th year) is a metric used to evaluate the strength of a language department. Goals of successful articulation are both to provide a smooth transition between levels, and, by so doing, to encourage retention up the curriculum. Annual journal of the AAUSC. Contains articles on the topic of advanced foreign-language learning.
