Sedick's stories take us into the small world of Kalk Bay in the 1960s, where the tiny slice of land between sea and mountain shelters a fishing community. But Sedick is a boy who wants more than adventures at school and on the mountain with his friends; he wants to go to sea on the White Rose, and become a fisherman. The white and red boat gives Sedick a chance to become a hero, doing battle with evil in a storm at sea.
