Five ducklings spend their first year exploring and adventuring in and around the lake at Rufford Abbey, a ruin in the middle of Sherwood forest. The inquisitive ducklings learn as they grow in an ever changing wilderness full of fun and adventure. With the arrival of each new season they discover how to enjoy the challenges that nature brings. Snow, ice, heat wave, rain, they soon discover that it's always good weather for ducks. At times comical, at times thrilling the story is a tender observation of the changing seasons.
