Hands-on life skills is a teaching and learning tools that facilitates the implementation of the life skills learning programme in the foundation phase. This course, which is based on the revised national curriculum statement, places special emphasis on enhancing the learner's positive self-image, promoting critical and creative thinking and respecting diversity of cultural habits and beliefs in South Africa. The learner's book uses real-life situations and contexts to engage the learners in activities that will help them achieve the learning outcomes. The teacher's guide outlines the learning outcomes and assessment standards for each activity and provides guidance on how to assess the activities in the learner's book. The workbook consolidates and extends the skills introduced in the learner's book.
