Roland's family is always entering competitionsthey won a miracle gadget once, except they couldn't put it together, and there was the soak-it hose that could water the garden - if they only had one! And winning that last competition was so embarrassing that Roland would just rather never go to school again can't help being interested in the new competition though. First Prize is a two-storey house on the Paradise Coast could even have his own basketball ring. But Roland finds that Paradise isn't always as good as it looks in the brochures and life is what you make it.
