Myself and Drake aged 6 (just turned this month) sat down with this book and made ourselves a robot army
What we liked about the book:
- the robots are easy to 'pop out'
- the card is sturdy so the robots once built are strong
- the decorate your own robot with stickers bit as Drake could personalise his robot
- easy to follow instructions - Drake was  able to complete the robots with minimal help
- we enjoyed this book over several days - and the robots have pride of place on the shelf
What could have been improved:
- it would have been nice to have coloured card rather than white to decorate your own robot
- we would have liked even more robots 6 is just not enough for a robot army!
- A colouring version of the plain robot would have been great - perhaps with geometric patterns on it or some colouring sheets featuring the robots doing things would have been fab
- more stickers - we ran out (well Drake got over enthusiastic with them) so we ended up finishing off with some left over princess stickers
- it would have been nice if the decorate your own robots were completely different from the pre-coloured ones

Fantastic activity book. My nephew who is 8 years old absolutely loved it. It kept him busy for several hours. This book contains six awesome robots to build and decorate. I also enjoyed doing it with him. I would definitely recommend this book!

When it arrived we gave it to Eleanor to open and as soon as she pulled it out the envelope her face lit up. She loves robots! And who said that girls can't?! She set about creating the robots with Daddy.
Eleanor was a little bit young to be able to actually make the robots but it worked well that she coloured the robots in while daddy made them up. She was able to put the smaller bits on the arms and the legs with a bit of guidance from Daddy.
The book had plenty of robots to keep little ones going for a good few days! We made one every night before bed as a little treat. Eleanor even took one in to school to show her teachers the next day and she said Miss Taylor and her friends were very impressed with the robot!
A great book for children of all ages but the older children would be better at making the robots without help. This would be a really good book to take away and to keep children busy on long journeys.

This book has robots you can make out of pop out pieces. Some of them you can put stickers on and colour in. They were hard to put together and daddy had to help me. I really like this book and i am sad we have built them all. I would like to do it all again.

What a fab book to win!
All 3 of my children enjoyed making these with me and my youngest has been playing a game with hers for about 30 minutes now!
They are made from strong card. I was glad I was there to support with the making as it was quite fiddly and the instructions weren't very clear for children to understand. I think the process could be broken down into more steps with a picture to show each step.
I like the option to use plain or coloured card, to use stickers or to decorate for yourself.

Robots to make and decorate has been a great hit with my two youngsters. The press out robots are easy to slot together and are made of a thick robust cardboard. My 10 year old found them easy to assemble. The addition of stickers was a great way to get my 2 year old involved in the activity. In addition to the making and decorating, the assembled robots have become great play items that are quite robust. What would have been a great addition to this make and do book was maybe a story book that the kids could have retold with their creations. Overall I would give the book 5 stars. Easy to build and great fro imaginative play.

Without a doubt, a five star book! I gave this to my two children aged 8 years and 4 years old, and they got to work on it straight away. The book includes six cardboard robots for children to construct by popping out pieces and slotting them together. My eldest, who loves making things  made two robots with ease. My youngest shoo-ed away my offers of help and just made robots in the way he wanted (not heeding any instructions in the slightest). Both were very happy with what they made, and they loved using the stickers provided to customise their creations. They have spent ages playing all sorts of games with their robots. When I asked what they liked about this book they both shouted 'EVERYTHING!!!!'. Definetly a winner of a book, and one that would make a great present.

This book is a great idea.  Lots of pre punched shapes that just pop out and slot together to make 3D robots.  There are 6 altogether, 2 of each of the 3 designs. Each robot has a pre-coloured version and a blank version that you can colour/decorate yourself.  There is a sticker sheet included to help with this.
Some of the pieces were quite tricky to slot together and some of the slotted bits had a tendency to not pop out too well & were then surprisingly hard to prise out.
On the whole though we were very impressed.  The robots, when built, are incredibly robust and have stood up to the 4 year old's attentions very well indeed.  They were too hard for him to build by himself but given another year or two I'm sure he'd find it quite easy!
