The Life of the Navajo looks at the fascinating lives of this nation of people who call themselves Dineh (Dine), which means "the people." The first Navajos migrated to the Southwest region during the 1400s. They built seasonal hogans, and survived as nomadic hunter-gatherers. Eventually, the Navajo began to farm and raise flocks of sheep. Children will learn about:
* the daily lives of Navajo men, women, and children
* Navajo games and celebrations
* how the lives of the Navajo varied from season to season
* the construction of traditional and modern hogans
* how sheep's wool was woven into blankets and rugs
