Judging the book on the cover i didnt think this would be something i would like but I really enjoyed this book. I found it really exciting and fun. The book is about a magic time travelling horse box. My favourite part was when they went back to the times of King Arthur and the Knights. There was funny bits in this book too which was surprising. I would recommend this to others

The book cover put me off it didn't look a very exciting book.
I keep putting it down and switching back to my David Walliam books and David Badiel. They are much more fun.

OK if you like horses I think.

I found this book really hard to get into and I didn't enjoy it very much even though I liked the idea of the story.
I didn't manage to read to the end of the book, but I will review the whole book if I do manage to read it one day.

I read it to Belllboo aged 9 aged 9

As much as we love the idea of this story and Bellboo begged me to read it every night, it was very detailed and hard to follow.  Many times I heard her say 'I don't understand what's happening' as I was reading and then I would have to stop and explain it all to her.  It was hard to read more than one chapter at a time because of this and in turn this made it take a long time to read.
I'd defiantly recommend this to an older child 11 plus, especially if the child will be reading it alone.  All in all great concept of a story but the telling was hindered by unnessisary information.

I read this book with my 9 year old (now 10). We enjoyed the story however although he is a good reader usually, he found it very hard to read and kept on hesitating over a number of words which frustrated him. I enjoyed reading this story to my son and found the plot quite intreaguing. We spent many hours discussing the various scenes and characters. Although when my son read the story he was quite slow and I found it tirying to keep going at times. We took quite a long time to finish this book because we realised we could only appreciate it when we had time to read it slowly and discuss any language issues/the plot etc. We only read this book at the week-end and during the holidays. I definitely think it's a good plot but quite difficult reading material for children under 11+.
