Thomas' Wonderful Word Book 9780603564840
4 stars
The book is split into numerous subjects, such as "At the Station" and "In the Wildlife Park", to name but a couple. Each "subject" is given a double-page spread and is a scene filled with words and an appropriate image or will incorporate some kind of activity - such as spotting an object that begins with a certain letter.

It's definitely a book to dip in and out of; we predominantly use it to introduce vocabulary and build language. There are loads of detail and lots to spot in all of the pictures so there's a lot to talk about.

The images are all bright and although fairly simplistic seem to really appeal to my two children.
Although Thomas and the sodar engines are a recurring theme there is a breadth of content that makes it usable for children who aren't big fans of Thomas.

To use the book at it's fullest potential I think it would suit slightly older children but even for toddlers there is a lot to get out of this book.
