Children all around eat cotton candy and candy apples as they wait in line for their turn to ride the carousel. But Lane can only think of how much fun she's going to have when she finally gets her chance to ride the carousel. When it's finally her turn, Lane climbs aboard and runs to ride the most beautiful animal on the carousel-the reindeer. She is very happy as the music plays and the carousel makes its rounds. When the ride is over, Lane sheds a tear-and so does the reindeer, although no one sees. Later that night, Lane misses her reindeer so much that she can't sleep. But a knock at the door and a mysterious gift helps her get to sleep-and takes her on a journey she will never forget.
