Early photographs are then compared with recent images taken from the same viewpoint. These are featured side-by-side to show how some of world's largest cities have changed or, indeed, remained the same over time. Revealing text documents the changes throughout the twentieth century and explains some of the main reasons for them. In Then and Now New York, we delve further into the history by examining events of the time and looking at what social, political and economic factors have altered the face of New York to date.
