Elinor's bedroom looks ordinary. But it's not. When Elinor goes to sleep, her bedroom can fly...Elinor never knows where she'll wake up. A tropical island, in a theatre show, helping pirates, on the moon...But her bedroom will always bring her safely home. These magical adventures, charmingly illustrated by Chloe Douglass, work equally well for children to read themselves or for parents to read aloud. With pirates, a train, the moon, a theatre, a snowman and a faraway island, they will appeal to boys and girls. Who doesn't want a bedroom that can fly?

I'm in the process of reading this book to my nearly 4 year old daughter. The concept of the flying bedroom is a new way of having a child travel to fantastic places. I really like how each adventure appears to be a dream, but it's not certain. That air of magic makes it quite nice. Elinor is exposed to a wide variety of short adventures in this chapter book. While they aren't too long, they can be a bit tricky for my daughter to focus on. But it's a good introduction to longer books without illustrations on each page (though the illustrations in the book are of a nice pencil style that add to the story). I expect this to be a book that my daughter will come back to again and again as her attention and imagination develop. And it's nice that it's a book I would be fine with reading repeatedly.

My six year old daughter loved the idea of a flying bedroom and the title instantly brought her imagination to life. The book is broken into chapters and each chapter is a different adventure. She liked that she was able to read a book with chapters and felt very grown up doing so.    I felt the adventures were a little bit mundane but she enjoyed them.

JJ and Li loved this book - all about a magical bedroom that can take you anywhere you would love to go - it got them talking about where they would go on adventures too which is lovely. Elinor is a loveable character - and there is an element of always being safe "at home" because her bedroom always brings her back safe. a lovely tale to read again and again x

Both my son & I really enjoyed this. It's a great chapter book, with six different adventures. We loved how brave and resourceful the main character Elinor is. She is totally unruffled by pirates threatening her or her bedroom floating off away from her and always manages to solve the problem at hand. We would love to read more of Elinor's adventures of this becomes a series.

When I saw the cover of this book and the title I knew my daughter will fall in love with it. And I was right! When you open it you see an amazing illustrations that look so real - just like the pencil drawings. The chapters take you into adventures that are funny, charming and magical:) You will meet a melting snowman and the "bad boys" who helped to rebuild him, an Island which is inhabited by a girl and her dog Monty. You will see the sleeping beauty performance from a stage perspective. Elinor (the main character) is so natural and lovely girl  that it's a pleasure to follow her dreams.
The chapters are short and each of them tells a diffrent story (suitable both for girls and boys). It's written in lovely, simple language which is easy to follow by 5-7 years old children although I would highly recommend it to the older one as well.

Ella really enjoyed this book, it didn't take her long to read it and read the book in chapters. Having chapters with different adventures made it really interesting for her and she was able to read a chapter each night before bed. She said it was fun to read

This is a lovely book, with really great illustrations. The chapters are a great length, and the different stories it tells throughout keep my 4yr old daughter hooked! She particularly found it funny when the snowman melted...! We are still reading this, but she thinks it's great and I can see that it will become a favourite!

At first, I was not overly impressed by this particular book. HOWEVER, the target audience, my six year old son loved it. He found it easy to read and just the right chapter length. He liked the 'silly' pirates and how their gold coins is really chocolate. The best point, which had my son in giggles, was the strange talking snowman, who slowly melts to pieces (only later to rebuilt). Great book!

Although initially this book looked a little young for me I liked the title and was curious to know the story. I liked it because I have a big imagination and I had never heard of a flying bedroom before. This book covers adventures with a Snowman, on an Island, at the Theatre, in Outer Space, with a train and with some Pirates. Its written in an easy to read style, has some illustrations and though the writing is quite big I really enjoyed this funny group of stories
