As the team comes to near an Austrian monastery circa 1867, they wonder what diabolical interest Darchon might have for a monk who grows pea pods. Although Laurel never did well in science class, her history skills come in handy to recognize that this monk is Gregor Mendel, the father of hereditary science—he discovered genes! But besides keeping this scientist out of Darchon’s clutches, the team must also contend with a mysterious new fly who claims to offer help in searching for their missing comrade.
