This is the story of Jamie, who lives in a post-global warming Scotland. Much of what we know now has been lost, but stories of the 'Ancestors' and what they could do are still told. A new king has come to the throne in the island city of Embra and he is searching for books to learn more from them. The beginning of the book echoes the story of Josiah finding the book of the "Law" in "2 Kings 22, 23". "The Lost Book Trilogy" sets out to achieve two things: to give children a fantastic adventure story; to help children think through the importance of the Bible and what it means to follow Christ. The world of Jamie and Rob, Insh More and Embra is not too different from our own. People have forgotten about God and put their trust in luck, superstition or knowledge. But here and there, there are people who still believe in God and are ready to serve him in any way needed. The trilogy will enable Christian children to reflect on following God and the importance of the Bible. For non-churched children, the books introduce them to the 'God of the Old Times' - to Jesus, and what it means to follow him.
