Ideal for children broadly aged from 7 to 12. These are highly original stories with topics that encourage discussion and further research. Many of the stories are linked to primary subjects: English, science, history, geography, biography, and PSHE/citizenship. The stories are set out in a generous font size and spacing to make them easier to read, particularly when reading with a partner. The stories and questions encourage skills such as debate, prediction and inference. They are also ideal for use in role play, assemblies, and to encourage both concentration and skilful listening.
Each story has a colourful illustration and a key question for the 'detective' to solve. There are also an additional 40 free downloadable sets of English language/comprehension questions for each story ('Hot' and 'Hotter' questions, with answers).
