Celefar is broken. The once proud, plentiful farms are now brutally held in an enforced contract with the insatiable greed of the Town. A charter, created by the treacherous Governors out of their promise of salvation from the marauding, half-beast Longhairs. Alexander knew it was all a lie, he just couldn't understand why no one else did. As he works alongside his grieving father, a devastating crop failure strikes. A mysterious sickness spreads among the adults, leaving them unable to function as the animals fall victim to a maddening infection. With the impending threat of reparations from the Town looming over them, the Farmers and their children brace themselves for the worst. Nothing however, could prepare them for the nightmarish measures the Governors would ultimately take.
