Jack is scared of the dark and while trying to get to sleep, he hears odd noises. It's a group of animals who have noticed he seems scared and want to show him why they think the night is the best part of the day. They take him outside on an adventure where he learns all about nocturnal animals and show him that the dark is nothing to be scared of.

This story is perfectly pitched for 5-7 year olds and supports the PSHE curriculum core theme of health and wellbeing and how health is important. It also introduces science information about nocturnal animals. Includes advice and activity notes for parents, teachers and carers.

Naomi Jones is the author of many acclaimed children's books, including The Perfect Fit, One More Try, The Odd Fish, How to Catch a Rainbow and Thunderboots.
