This work is aimed at children aged 4 plus and their families. The calendar enables families to explore the Christmas story over Advent, with opportunities to get the children to reflect on their own response to Jesus coming to live with his people. The calendar is the size of 3 A4 sections joined together along the shorter side, folded so that the calendar can stand up. The doors start at either end of the calendar, gradually working their way towards the place of Jesus' birth at the centre. The main illustration is a long street scene and the calendar doors are the doors and windows in the picture (so that the integrity of the main picture is maintained throughout). The doors start with the annunciation and end with Jesus' birth.Text on the back of the doors link to a part of the story on the back of the calendar, telling a short part of the Christmas story each day. Also on the back are ideas to help retell the story with children, the relevant Bible passages and ideas to help families pray together.
