When Ana leaves everything she knows and loves behind to escape the turmoil of war, she struggles to settle into her new home with Olive and her family. Olive has some adjustment struggles of her own, but when the girls draw together, Ana's drawings show Olive what she has left behind. Part of the Rhyngom Scheme.

Miriam was born and brought up in St Albans, Hertfordshire and studied an Illustration degree at Bristol, achieving a 1st class honours in 2003. Wheelie Girl, her first book, was part of her final degree show and attracted a lot of interest from agents. Since graduating, Miriam has moved to Devon where she is already working on her next book.
