Pookie, the little white rabbit with wings, first published in 1945 is a classic, endearing character and HarperCollins are delighted to be bringing him back to their list. The goblins leave Bluebell Wood offended, leaving nowhere for the woodland folk to buy their provisions. Pookie decides to open his own shop! He enlists Belinda's help in baking lots of cakes to sell. The next morning Pookie's shop is a great success but he is sold out and realises it will be very hard work keeping it in stock. So he sets out to persuade the goblins to come back...

Pookie sprang from the imagination of Ivy Wallace while she working on a switchboard during the war. In 1945 she took Pookie's first adventure to Wm Collins and not only was Pookie put into print by Ivy Wallace and William Collins her publisher were married in 1950.
