Abandoned by their uncle and aunt, Kevin and Sandra decide to camp out at Gumble's yard, a deserted row of cottages well away from the neighbour's gossip. But the cottages don't apear to be as empty as they first thought-strange poeple are coming and going,mysterious boxes keep arriving, and the children soon find themselves caught right in the middle of a dangerous chain of events.
