In the Country

Benedict Blathwayt's detailed and intricate artwork follows the seasons on a busy farm. In spring, the fields are ploughed. In summer, the sheep are sheared and the hay is cut. In autumn, the apples and potatoes are stored. In winter, it's time to keep warm. Special words and vignettes pick out features in each scene and give children, aged 5 plus, first introduction using a beautiful picture book to extract information, much like reading a map. Benedict Blathwayt has sold over a million copies of his "Bramble" books and his children's illustrations are known internationally.
