Mark and Beebe are the same age, they go to the same school, and they're very similar. They're both strong-minded, bright, and very interested in their own pet subjects: Beebe in Shakespeare, and Mark in astronomy. They're both used to coping with their single parents. And they both feel that something - or someone - is missing from their lives.
