The YA Book Prize is awarded annually to a YA title written by an author living in the UK or Ireland. The prize celebrates great books for teenagers and young adults and aims to get more teens reading and buying books. The prize is organised by book trade magazine The Bookseller and it is run in partnership with Hay Festival. The previous winners are: Louise O’Neill in 2015 for Only Ever Yours (Quercus), Sarah Crossan in 2016 for One (Bloomsbury Children’s Books) and Patrice Lawrence in 2017 for Orangeboy (Hodder Children's Books).
The winner of the YA Book Prize 2018 will be announced at a ceremony at the Hay Festival on Thursday 31st May.
