Poppy and Sam's Animal Hide-and Seek
Blaine loved finding where each animal was hiding in this book, this edition has so much happening on every page which makes it fun to read over and over without it getting dull. It has sturdy flaps for little hands to open up, loads of different textures to touch which Blaine loved feeling; he then would ask me to feel the texture too. The scratchy thistle is a favourite of his, you also can search for the little yellow duck and count how many animals there are on each page.
Poppy and Sam's Bedtime
It's the end of a busy day on Apple Tree Farm, Poppy and Sam want to say goodnight to all the animals before bed. This book is a touchy-feely edition, Blaine loved petting all the animals and saying good night to them before they went to bed.
Poppy and Sam's Bedtime has helped Blaine learn to associate what each farm animals look like, what sounds they make, and what different farm animals there are. Blaine has a short attention span with books at the moment but this book kept him engaged the whole time; he couldn't wait to turn the thick cardboard page (perfect for rough handling from little hands) and feel the next animal and also lift the little cardboard flaps which have surprises hidden behind them.
Overall children will love the tactile interactive aspects of this edition which really help them to get involved with the book. There's also the bonus of searching for the yellow duck on each page. The brightly coloured illustrations are fun and cheerful to look at, there’s lots to look at on each page which me and Blaine liked to talk about, such as him telling me about the duck pond and what sort of animals you can find there. This book is perfect as a bedtime story but it’s lovely to share at any time of the day.
Poppy and Sam's Animals Sticker Book
What young child doesn't like stickers? Blaine loved picking each sticker out, when he decided which sticker he wanted he automatically told me what the animal was and then started making the sound that specific animal makes. There's not only farm animal stickers in this book but also people, smaller creatures you'd find in the wild and items you'd find on a typical farm.
There are lots of different farmyard scenes such as stables, a summer farm show and snowy fields for your little one to choose from when deciding where they want to place their stickers. The book is fantastic for little ones which are indecisive about where they originally stuck their sticker, if they don't like where they originally stuck their sticker they can easily pick it off and place it somewhere else.
