It turns out social media is not all doom scrolling and superficial likes... over on TikTok the reading community is taking the book world by storm. 

Book influencers and readers on #BookTok are clocking up the likes and making a real difference at the same time - creating word-of-mouth hits that propel BookTok books into the bestseller charts, and pushing for diversity and inclusion in publishing. 

Its secret? #BookTok is just a fun place to be a reader. With video lists like "Books that made me forget I was reading" and "Book I wish I could read again for the first time", as well as the (often brutally!) honest reviews and recommendations, it's also a brilliant way to find your next read.

While most creators on TikTok read across all genres, there is a strong YA community and lots of love for YA fantasy and romance on #BookTok. The TikTok app is restricted to users 13+ and the recommended books can have mature themes so we recommend BookTok for older teens and young adults.
