Politics for Beginners

Rarely do I read a children's book which I think should be made compulsory reading for most adults! This is a truly phenomenal book, breaking down complex political ideas into something fun and easy to digest. With chapters on the various types of governments, the political systems, voting and the BIG questions (Can war ever be justified?) this is an extremely helpful book for understanding the world around us. With Usborne's high-quality illustrations, this book is essential reading for everyone. Recommended for ages 8+.

Meet the Twitches by Hayley Scott & Pippa Curnick (illustrator)

I'm often asked to recommend a chapter book or series for when children are ready for something longer than a picture book. I truly hope that this book is the start of a new series. It has such sweet characters, BEAUTIFUL full-colour illustrations and nice short chapters so that little ones don't get too tired. Our reviewers loved it too "What a great book, it’s perfect for my little boy. It’s nice to have a book that we can read over a few nights that’s suitable for his age. The story is really nice and the illustrations are great. We really enjoyed this one." (Read to FreddyBoggis aged 5). Recommended for ages 5+

Supersaurs 2: The Stegosorcerer

The second book in the epic adventure series which asks you to imagine a world where dinosaurs never died out. This is an action-packed adventure with lots of illustrations and would be a brilliant gift for any dinosaur fan. Our reviewers loved book 1, Supersaurs: Raptors of Paradise (one of our Best Children's Books of the Year 2017), though you don't need to have read book 1 to enjoy this thrilling story.
