New TV series for Alex Rider books

The brilliant Alex Rider books about a teenage spy are due to be reimagined as an 8-part tv series. Despite a film back in 2006 for Stormbreaker, this is the first time that other books in the series will come to life on screen. (Digital Spy)

New book to celebrate the women of Doctor Who

The first female Doctor Who is due to launch this Autumn and BBC Books are publishing a new book to accompany this milestone, celebrating the women (both real and imagined) on the show. (Radio Times). 

New study shows only 4% of children's books feature a BAME character

A study by The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE) shows that Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) characters are still woefully under-represented in Children's Books. (CBBC Newsround)
