Mark Alvarez is a former magazine editor and was for a decade the Publications Director of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR). He is the author of a number of books, including The Official Baseball Hall of Fame Story of Jackie Robinson. Raised in Kentucky and upstate New York, Tate Nation received his BFA from Western Kentucky, where he was a collegiate swimmer, before moving to Charleston, S.C., where he lives and paints. Born in New York and raised in South Carolina, Will Cleveland became fascinated with memory systems while attending Yale as an undergraduate. The story lines for his books on how to memorize the U.S. presidents and the state capitals were developed with his wife and children to combat the awesome silence of family car rides . Will's wife, Anne, a highly effective middle school English and history teacher, insisted that their children not listen to tape recorded music, but rather engage in "quality time", while on family trips.
