Stephanie Clarkson is a writer and journalist. She worked in-house as a features writer for The Daily Mail from 1999 to 2004 and was Deputy Features Editor for Woman and Home magazine until 2006. Since then she has worked as a freelance writer, dividing her time between writing for the children's market and continuing to contribute to the British press. Stephanie has written extensively in the health and wellbeing arena for titles such as Top Sante, Zest, Psychologies, Red, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Good Health in The Daily Mail. Mental health subjects she has covered include dementia, anger management, stress, depression, and body dysmorphia. Over the past three years, Stephanie has been collaborating with leading fertility charity the Donor Conception Network producing a chapter book for DC children, creating resources for families and schools and refreshing the charity's picture book series.
Such experience, coupled with the time she spends working with schools to help children unlock their creative writing potential, means that Stephanie knows exactly how to make the trickiest of subjects accessible to younger readers. Previous work on the Vlog It series (Scholastic) and Justin Bieber and One Direction titles (Centum), enables her to hit the right tone for tweens and teens.
