Salome Mutter's knowledge of Fine Art excelled after her studies at the Winchester School of Art, United Kingdom. While specialising in printmaking, she is experienced in painting, drawing, illustration and generally making an arty mess. Her work has been featured in Plog Magazine and she has taken part in exhibitions, such as Transitions at WSA. Her work is inspired by nature, a love of animals and an extensive collection of childhood cuddly toys. Salome Mutter has always been fascinated by stories and the images they create. Communicating completely new worlds and characters has become the creative power behind her art, inspired by childhood memories of stories illustrated by artists such as Jill Barklem and Pauline Baynes. "Illustration is about sharing something you love: an image, an atmosphere, a character or a whole world that exists inside your head. You put it on paper because you want others to be involved, because it needs to be enjoyed and cherished." When not in the studio, Salome Mutter can be found outside photographing nature or biking round Epping Forest. Other pursuits include lots of reading and building her book collection; birds and psychology are popular themes, but nothing can beat a good fantasy novel! She enjoys playing video games, eating ice cream and cuddling her cat!
