Nora Raleigh Baskin had dreamed of being a writer since childhood, but it wasn't until she was married with two small children that she began to write seriously. Her first novel, What Every Girl (Except Me) Knows (9780744590456) was followed by Almost Home (9781844286003). Both are semi-autobiographical stories, about girls searching for a place to belong. Nora now teaches creative writing for children, and speaks at schools and libraries across the country.
