Miranda Twist grew up in the Scottish highlands. She studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Edinburgh University where she also ran the mythopoeic society. Once in a Blue Moon is her first book for children. 'I am a poet and a story teller. I began as a poet, writing my first poem when I was just six. Then I fell in love with stories and the magic of words. I like to paint with words in new and interesting ways that take the reader by surprise. You may find something funny and something really creepy side by side.'
