Melissa Conroy is the author and artist of three books including Grandma Is an Author and The Lowcountry Coloring Book . She earned master's degrees in painting and textile design from the University of Georgia and Philadelphia University. Conroy is a part-time faculty member in the Textile Design Department at Jefferson University.
