Martine Murray was born in Melbourne. She has studied art and dabbled in acrobatics and dance. In addition to her Henrietta books, she has written three picture books, illustrated one, and written three novels that have sold extensively overseas. Her latest novel for junior readers is Molly and Pim and the Millions of Stars, which was shortlisted in the 2016 Children's Book Council of Australia awards.
