Marilyn Singer is the author of more than ninety books for children and young adults in many genres, but she especially loves to write poetry. Her works include A Stick Is an Excellent Thing, A Full Moon Is Rising, and the award-winning Mirror Mirror. She lives with her husband and several pets in Brooklyn, NY, which is sometimes a strange place to call home, and in Washington, CT, where bobcats and weasels walk across her backyard.
Ed Young has illustrated more than eighty books for children (many of which he also wrote). Born in Tientsin, China, he is the winner of both the Caldecott Medal and the Caldecott Honor, in addition to many other awards. He lives with his family in New York.
