Kara Laughlin spent much of her childhood making journals and filling them up with backward handwriting (because she heard that was how Leonardo DaVinci did it), so it only makes sense that she'd grow up to write about art, craft, and the people who make it. She has sold her hand-embroidered jewelry, art, and gifts for nearly ten years. She has written for The Crafts Report, CraftsBusiness, and FiberArts magazines, and her books, Beautiful Bags for the Crafty Fashionista and Hip Hair Accessories for the Crafty Fashionista were published by Capstone in 2012. Marne Ventura is the author of many books for kids, both fiction and nonfiction. She enjoys writing about science, technology, engineering and math, arts and crafts, and the lives of creative people. A former elementary school teacher, Marne holds a master's degree in education from the University of California. She and her husband live on the central coast of California. Jennifer Phillips has been a writer for thirty years, starting out as a newspaper reporter in the Midwest. Her writing has given her a chance to try many fun and interesting things. She tackled crime stories and hung out in police labs long before shows like CSI were around. She's ridden in helicopters, watched surgeries and traveled to 10 countries so far, always on the quest to find a new story. For young readers, she has independently published three other biographies, previously wrote two paper crafting books for Capstone and has sold her work to children's publications as well. Jennifer lives in the Seattle area with her husband, two daughters, one cockatiel bird and a Betta fish rescued from a science class ecosystem experiment. Debbie Prestine Kachidurian has been a teacher and a writer for more than 20 years. She has taught in the elementary school classroom, but especially enjoys creating and teaching enrichment classes such as wearable art, edible art and art history for kids. She co-authored a book with her mom, Joan Prestine, called Easy Activities for Every Kid and enjoyed co-authoring this book with her daughters, Kelly and Megan.
