Jim Field Biography Jim Field is a lead-driven, pencil-pushing, 25-frames-per-second Led Zeppelin fan. He is also a hugely talented illustrator and animation director. His first picture book
Cats Ahoy! won the Booktrust Roald Dahl Funny Prize and was nominated for the Kate Greenaway award. He has since illustrated a string of bestselling, multi-award-winning children's books, including
Oi Frog! and
The Lion Inside, as well as young fiction series
Rabbit and Bear.
Jim grew up in Farnborough and loved drawing from a very young age, eventually going on to study animation at Hull School of Art and Design. He now lives in Paris with his wife and daughter. He likes playing the guitar and drinking coffee.
Jim Field FactsIn 2013 Jim designed and art-directed the interactive children's exhibition ‘Journey to Space' at the Discover Children's Story Centre in London.
Jim has been chosen as the illustrator for World Book Day 2018. He has worked again with author
Kes Gray on the Oi books and is delighted that
Oi Goat! has been selected as one of the World Book Day titles.
