After graduating with a degree in English, Gill worked as a secondary school teacher for many years before she began writing children's books. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and has a large (and very lively!) extended family, including twelve grandchildren, who keep her in touch with what it's like to be young. Gill has published nine books so far: All My Friends, The Day Ravi Smiled, Starlight, Ellie and the Butterfly Kitten, Does Anybody Love Me, Midnight Tiger, More Precious than Gold, Little Bear's Special Wish and Hazel, Not a Nut. She has also won an award for her poetry. Gill loves gardening, music and her cats.
