Deborah Brown was born in London in 1970. She studied Fine Art at Newcastle University and then moved back to London to pursue a career in photography. Deborah's work has been appeared in Vogue, Elle Deco, the weekend supplements and numerous other publications. In May 2002 she and her partner, Michael, had their son, Solomon and this was where the idea for her first book came from! After collaborating with Kathy Bacovitch and a great deal of to-ing and fro-ing, they produced Follow That String. Kathy Bacovitch comes from Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear. She is married with two children and has her own graphic design business, Bibi's Designs. She met Deborah through a mutual friend and found they both shared an interest in creating a unique children's book. Influenced by Maurice Sendak and Eric Carle, they set out to create an original book using a mix of photography, collage and illustration.
