Bob Artley (1917-2011) was the celebrated illustrator of more than ten books. His career began more than fifty years ago as an editorial cartoonist. He spent most of his time with the Des Moines Tribune and the Worthington (Minnesota) Daily Globe. In retirement, he devoted most of his time to children's books. He wrote and illustrated Once Upon a Farm, Memories of a Farm Kitchen, Christmas on the Farm, Living With Pigs, and Step Up!, also published by Pelican. Cathe Hahn is the owner of a sail-making company in Harbor Springs, Michigan. She was inspired to write this story after she took her two little girls on a carriage ride around the island. She is a native of Michigan and this is her first book.
