From an early age Bernard Hugh-Kong has had a passion for drawing. Initial interest in artwork was sparked following 'after school' art classes instigated by his older brother. His grandmother (Lenore Mitchell-David) proved to be extremely influential following the release of her debut song book in 1999 ('Let The Children Sing'). Bernard Hugh-Kong studied Graphic Design and Illustration at University, subsequently working in the print industry and also as a freelance illustrator. Bernard Hugh-Kong enjoys creating striking illustrations inspired by the natural environment. His motivation is not only creating interesting illustrated stories for children, but providing inspiration by means of a 'moral to the story'.
