Addy Farmer was born in Northern Ireland and as a child moved all over the country going to lots of different schools. After university she dabbled in film-making before settling down to work in bookshops. Now, when she is not working as a special needs teacher, she writes stories, which is her favourite occupation. She lives in a village near Scunthorpe with her husband and three children.

Ruth Rivers spent a number of years working in advertising before going on to illustrate children's books, which include The Biggest Bible Story Books by Anne Adeney and Matty Mouse by Jenny Nimmo. She lives in London.
