Originally from Riga, Latvia, Karine Popova is an experienced illustrator, having graduated from Sunderland University. She has worked on a broad range of illustrative projects for a wide range of clients, for example, Sunderland Museum & Winter Garden. Karine Popova is an advocate of traditional illustrative techniques, but also enjoys combining these high quality skills with modern art methods, including digital enhancement. She wishes for her readers to discover 'something new' from her books and allow them to think in an open minded fashion. When she is not creating masterpieces, she enjoys listening to music and travelling. She is also a member of the Dot to Dot Art Organisation. Karine Popova's debut book, "Lily In The Insects' World", is an entrancing picture storybook created in an atmosphere of quirky fantasy and adventure, whilst telling an educational tale.
