If you're looking for a fresh and exciting graphic novel series for readers aged 6+, the Pablo & Splash books, packed with fun and full-colour illustrations throughout, are just what you need. 

The books follow main characters Pablo and Splash, who are two time-travelling penguins and couldn't be more different than one another (despite being besties for life). Pablo is a home-bird and a careful planner. Splash is easily bored and often hungry for adventure. Throughout the books, thanks to a handy time machine called the TimeBender, they time travel together through the age of dinosaurs, ice age and even meet the ancient Romans. Each book is filled with riotous fun, hilarious puns and lots of adventure.

This series is a wonderful representation of true friendship's warmth and humour, and is a brilliant stepping stone towards independent reading for the parents and teachers who want to foster their children's development. The series has also been shortlisted for the British Book Awards Children's Illustrated Book of the Year 2025.
