Flying Fergus is a fantastically fun, magical cycling adventure series from cycling champion Sir Chris Hoy.

As Great Britain’s most successful Olympian to date, Sir Chris Hoy is passionate about getting young people cycling and reading. 

Co-written with award-winning author Joanna Nadin and with fabulous illustrations by Clare Elsom, the Flying Fergus chapter books are recommended for readers 6+ and are great for newly independent readers. Sir Chris Hoy’s books are loved by our reviewers for the mix of magic, imagination and excitement.

Fergus Hamilton is a boy with a big imagination who lives and dreams bikes. But he's also got a secret. If the pedals on his bike spin backwards, he's magically transported to to Nevermore, where cycling is banned and his dad is a prisoner...

You can read the books in any order but we recommend starting with book one - The Best Birthday Bike - for the story of how Fergus got his powers.
