All witches LOVE Halloween, right? Wrong! This little witch loves . . . CHRISTMAS!

Trixie's friends think she's batty as a vampire, so she needs Santa's help to spread the Christmas joy. But when she visits Lapland HQ, Santa is nowhere to be seen, the elves' shelves are empty and ALL WITCHES are on the Naughty List! Luckily, Trixie knows a spell or two that just might save Christmas for everyone.

Join Trixie, Rudy the cat, LOTS of elves and witches . . . and even Santa himself in this beautifully illustrated picture book by James Brown.

A very lovely book. Love that it’s all about a little witch that just wants to bring Christmas magic to people. We loved the little jingle rythmes throughout the book. A nice modern version of a Christmas story. The illustrations are lovely and you can really tell what is going on. My daughter loves it as she loves Christmas but loves pretending to be a witch.

Wonderful festive book with a witchy twist. Ivy loved the front cover straight away and couldn’t wait to read. The story itself is lovely and festive with a nice meaningful message behind it. We loved the happy ending.

Both Martha and I enjoyed this book.  It’s a simple but lovely story with gorgeous illustrations - quite traditional compared to some books but that’s not a bad thing!  Martha got very excited about the story, Father Christmas and the witch.  It is a bit ‘naughty list nice list’ so if that’s not your cup of tea then maybe avoid but we really did enjoy it.  Lovely, different and modern book.

Wonderful story about a witch called Trixie that wants everyone to have a magical Christmas. The story is enchanting with verses to sing throughout the story.
The illustrations are great and capturing.
My two loved the story. They are crazy about Halloween and Christmas so this was the perfect story for them.
Definitely a new household favourite

Little Trixie loves Christmas and wants all her friends to love it as much as they love Halloween. The trouble is witches are a bit tricksy and not on the nice list. This little witch knows Santa will help her and with some lovely rhymes, some positive determination and a lovely heart, Trixie brings Christmas to everyone.

This book is lovely and festive, the illustrations are our favourite bit, bold beautiful and very magical.

I was a little concerned about the naughty and nice issue at the beginning but actually the book deals with it well, showing that everyone deserves a gift from santa. We also loved the different representation of santa!

This is a magical book for children, perfect for a book advent or over the Christmas period especially.
This little witch shows that not all witches are bad. The head elf doesn't want to give her a chance, but she stands up for what she believes in and proves that people shouldn't judge. Some really lovely social elements to this story. The little witch saves Christmas and spreads all of Christmas joy with everyone.

This is a fun festive tale, starring Trixie the little witch who loves Christmas and wants everyone to share the magic of the season with her.
Both my children love this book; the opening page when we start to talk about Halloween prior to switching to Christmas really caught their attention and sparked their interest.
The language is simple and easy for children to understand. The inclusion of some fab twists on the “Jingle Bell” rhyme and some onomatopoeic sound effects means it’s great fun to read aloud. Both kids loved to join in with the singing.
The illustrations are gorgeous; they’ve very detailed and prompted a lot of further examination during and after the story! The book itself is great quality and I’m sure will stand up to the test of time.
Trixie is a great character: she’s determined to succeed with her plan - despite the Head Elf’s best efforts to discourage her. The story highlights how to naughty list isn’t always quite right and not to judge by first impressions or stereotypes but by people’s actions. It’s a delightful tale packed with more poignant lessons.
This is a heart-warming and lively Christmas adventure story we will definitely be revisiting again and again.

This is a lovely little Christmas story which tells us about a nice witch who loves Christmas and just wants to make it special for everyone. It is a different twist on a traditional Christmas story and my son has loved me reading it to him over and over again.

Jingle Spells is a fun Christmas story about a young witch called Trixie who (much like myself!) prefers Christmas to Halloween and goes on an adventure in hopes of showing her friends why Christmas is so magical.
I like how the book shows Trixie in this way as it shows the children that not everyone has to be the same as everyone else and that we all have different likes and dislikes even if we or others think we should like certain things because everyone else does. When I first showed the children the book most of them mentioned how she was a witch and she couldn't like Christmas but rather Halloween so it was a good starting point to a discussion.
The illustrations throughout the book are gorgeous and the children enjoyed looking at the details in all the pictures. They had fun seeing all the mischief Trixie got up to with her spells and when asked at the end most of them said their favourite part was seeing Trixie get to deliver all the gifts with Santa as she had saved Christmas. I liked the attention to detail in the images as it gave the children lots to look at and I like how Halloween and Christmas didn't really cross over in the illustrations until the end of the book as it was a really effective way of showing how Trixie felt.
We really liked Trixie and Rudy the cat as characters as they were relatable for the children and I like how we got to see Trixie's feelings change throughout the book when she got to enjoy Christmas rather than Halloween. The children loved when Trixie and Rudy rode the broom together with Santa as it was so magical for them to see and they all started thinking about Christmas Day!
The children really enjoyed being read Jingle Spells and it got them very excited for Christmas and with Trixie being on the naughty list it prompted them all to let us know that they will all be on the Nice list this year (except says one child, one of their brothers!)

I love this book. I am 6 and read it by myself, with Mummy helping. I think Trixie is my best character in the story, because she loves Christmas even though she is a witch. I love the pictures in the book and they really help to tell the story. My favourite bits were the jingle spells. I kept singing them after and made up my own. I love how everyone enjoyed Christmas at the end of the story.

Arlo is 21 months old and although I am sure he didn't understand the whole story he loved to turn the pages and see what was happening next.  The illustrations were clear and each page of the story brought something different. He wanted it to be read to him time and again and loves saying witches.  I enjoyed the story as for once it was about a good witch, Trixie. I don't want to put in any spoilers but she proved herself in the end.  It is also very topical with Christmas fast approaching.  I am sure this story will be read many times more, I certainly enjoyed reading it out loud.

Really great idea combining the holiday occasions all children love best- Christmas and Halloween! We follow Trixie- a determined young witch who sets out to prove not all witches should be on the naughty list. Wonderful detailed illustrations which my girls loved but overall we felt that the story got a bit muddled and rushed in places... although it did help us get in the festive mood!
