This book has been sitting in our bookcase for some time so tonight we chose it for bedtime.

What an adorable book! Thought provoking and reassuring both to mama and little ones, Hattie and her big family have a hectic but loving life, with Hattie at the centre, until the babies have grown up and its time for them to move on to the next chapter in their lives and Hattie is home alone.

My eldest daughter had just been sharing her worries about getting older and having to leave home so this was the absolute perfect book to have chosen by chance as it ends happily, with a reminder that family life does change but the love and commitment doesn't go away.

We all really enjoyed this story and would absolutely recommend it to any family, sweet, light with a beautiful message.

The follow on book to Hattie peck is about Hattie hen returning all her babies back to where they came from now that they are all grown up. Hattie goes on another adventure to reach her destinations this book is just as good as the first. Lots of brilliant illustrations.

My daughter really enjoyed Hattie Peck, so she was really excited to find the sequel. Hattie is a hen who likes to collect all sorts of abandoned eggs and hatch them- so as you can imagine her new family is quite exotic! My daughter really enjoyed talking about all the different creatures and the adventures they go on. A great book.

A really beautiful story about a hen that goes around collecting abandoned eggs. Each hatchling she loves equally. Families are not always the same and yet they all do the same things. Hattie helps her hatchlings fly the nest. A lovely bedtime story.
